We have been told that we are difficult to buy for, so, for those who would like to give a gift, we have created a wish list here of items we would love to receive. The items are listed, over two pages, in ascending price order and include some more expensive items for those who like the idea of giving a combined gift. Monetary gifts to go towards our honeymoon (or ricemaltmoon, as the Adam half likes to call it) would also be most gratefully received.
As we are pretty big op shop people, most household things we have needed (or wanted) we, fortunately enough, have easily obtain from those shops (okay, so maybe that does make us a little difficult to buy for). What we do love though, and often have trouble finding, are books! Which has meant that majority of the list has ended up comprising of some of the books we have both really been wanting to read but have not yet been able to attain through our usual means. Even though books may not be so much a traditional wedding gift, we would really love to receive them – whether found in a second hand bookshop or new. :)
We chose to use "thethingsiwant.com" to host our wish list as it allows for purchases to be made at any store of choice, whether offline or online, by the facilitation of the "Offline Reservation" button. In the meantime, we accessed various Australian online stores in search for the cheapest available online price, in case people's preference is to "click and buy" (though, there may still be cheaper Australian online stores out there). Of course, often, it would be even cheaper to purchase internationally from online stores such as amazon.com.
For purchases made over the Internet, our preference would be for gifts to be sent directly to our home address: 5/39 Frazer St, LILYFIELD NSW 2040, though understand some people enjoy viewing gifts and giving them on the day. If it looks as though an Internet purchase may not arrive in time to the Lilyfield address, we do not mind receiving late gifts and won't be returning home until 28 May 2008 anyway, so probably won't even know any better. :)
Oh, and by the way, we have set the wish list account up in such a way that we are unable to view, ourselves, what reservations/purchases have been made when we log onto the site, therefore, will be unaware of gifts purchased until we receive them. |
